Ever since I got back from my vacation, I’ve hit the ground running. It wasn’t really planned, but I’ve been busy. I’m not sure if I like it yet or not. And with all this busy bee action, I haven’t even seen my good pals, Em and JB, nor have I had time to seriously collect my thoughts and figure out what in the world is going on.
Oh man, I pray for protection and strength.
I check relevantmagazine.com for news headlines daily and was shocked to see little ol’ Lubbock, Texas worthy of a news slice.
“Public officials in the city of Lubbock, Texas, have decided to adopt a resolution asking for local residents to pray and fast for rain this Sunday. After suffering from lower than normal rainfall, the mayor said in a statement, “Nobody is going to tell God what to do and what not to do, but we are in a serious drought in West Texas and since He is the man who controls the rain clouds, we’re asking Him for His mercy and His help.” 7/25/06 | 1:51 PM”
Not sure why people gathering to pray is a strange thing… in fact, it’s a sad thing it’s newsworthy. I like what the mayor said and wonder what would happen if communities everywhere started praying with this mindset. Or started praying together, period. I imagine there’d be less articles about this and more articles about miracles happening. That’d be neat.
