Look differently.

My brother admitted an embarrassing story to me the other day. He was at the tail end of a mini summer semester, chock full of anatomy and physiology. He had many late nights studying and cramming for his final. A friend let him look over his notes and my brother could not figure out what his friend wrote.

“Eee-yes? What’s eee-yes?”

“What are you talking about?”

“You wrote it down here. Eee-yes.”

“Uh, that says Eyes.”

I had a good chuckle at my brother’s momentary lapse of brain function and we joked about it all weekend. But I thought it was crazy that someone could see an everyday word like EYES and see EEE-YES. (Pronounced much like “e-mail” or Rick James’s “EEE-YES! WHAAAT?!”)

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

This verse has to be one of the most planted verses I have ever known. It’s one of the first verses I’ve memorized and it wasn’t even on purpose. I’ve just seen it and heard it so many times. And I’ve definitely rolled my eyes at church when I hear this verse because it lost its luster in my eyes, eee-yes.

But then I remembered something I posted earlier this month.
