Twitter? What the heck is that?

By neener | March 11, 2008

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve started to use Twitter. You can see my Twitter updates on this blog (to the right, to the right!) and I’ve set Twitter to automatically update my facebook status. I was hesitant about using it at first, but now I’ve jumped on the bandwagon. Guess I’ll find out if that bandwagon goes anywhere!

For a neat, quick explanation of what Twitter is and does, check out the video:

Do you Twitter?

A taste of Time59.

I’ve been doing a little bit of freelancing and decided notepad isn’t going to cut it as a time tracker for very long. I did some quick research and tried Cashboard for a few minutes. I tried to finalize an invoice and kept getting an error message. In addition, the layout was confusing and visually bland.

Trying to keep it cheap, I found Time59 that is free for 30 days then will be $19.95/year as opposed to other sites that charge that much per month. Within a few minutes I had entered time spent on an old project and created an invoice. It also keeps track of my clients, expenses, and accounts receivable. If I get fancy, it also integrates with QuickBooks. Mad props to Time59 so far.

Fellow freelancers, what do you use to track time and money?

Shameless plug: If you or someone you know needs some print or design work done, holla!

The webz are good for you!

The Discovery Channel has a small article on how blogging and online social networking help people stay connected and improves social health. Although it was a small study, they reported that “All respondents, whether or not they blogged, reported feeling less anxious, depressed and stressed after two months of online social networking.”

So, for my health, make sure we’re online friends in every way!

- Myspace
- Twitter
- LinkedIn

Why can’t we be friends?
