Been busy, but not really.
- Still jobless.
- Technically, not jobless since I have a few design projects in queue. But still, nervously jobless.
- If all goes according to plans, should move to Lewisville next month to save money.
- Had a few people ask me about my music this weekend and what a waste it is I’m not doing anything with it. So, I think I may remedy that this week.
- The spring TV season is almost over but for the most part, was a big fat tease. Thank you writers’ strike.
- Had a mini high school reunion this weekend. It was actually a graduation party though. I am friends with a real, live doctor.
- Need to sell extremely poor set of drums, 21″ TV, HP Deskjet 932C printer, and electronic piano. Any takers?
- Thinking about selling my new living room set vs. putting it in storage if I move.
- Not a good time to be unemployed. GAS IS EXPENSIVE. OH, STAB ME IN THE EYE.
- My brother graduated two weeks ago.
- I get to see Death Cab for Cutie in a few weeks, thanks to my friend Megan K.
- Last but not least, I helped my friend Jenna with her first Field Day at the elementary school she teaches at. I got a good workout, a super farmers’ tan, and glad I was part of such a successful event.
I was given the role of videographer during the event. So I was the creepy non-mom following kids around with a camcorder.

Alicia took the day off to come help out as well!

And the unstoppable PE team at Grapevine Elementary, Ms. Beach and Assistant to the PE Teacher, Ms. Drye!

In East Asia, we were greeted with rock hard beds, complete with a soft pink comforter. There was no sheet, but I never enjoyed sleeping with a sheet. But I was concerned about sleeping on my rock hard bed for a week.

But the days were so full that I crashed easily each night. I just dealt with the sore body in the morning, no problem.
The first night back in America, I slept for 10-12 hours on my soft, soft bed. I was tired. The next night, I tried to sleep but my body didn’t like the soft bed. I tried again the next night and the same result.
Desperate for sleep, I finally took an old comforter and tried out my couch. I’ve slept like a baby there ever since.
Maybe it’s my Asian roots really showing up!
As of 7:15AM, there are reports of major damage in Plano, Allen, and McKinney as well damage in Irving and Addison. This is nuts to me because I’m a few miles from them all!
At 2AM, I checked the weather when I noticed a tweet from Brownwood mention tornado weather. The storms seemed far away enough that it wouldn’t hit Dallas. I WAS WRONG, WONK WONK.
At 4AM, I decided to hit the hay and just when I did, the storm came. The winds were nuts and I nervously sat next to my bedroom window, wondering if the tree next to it was going to barge in. Before I could think about checking the weather online again, the power was out. A few minutes later, I get a text from a friend in Grapevine wondering if I was OK. The storm woke her up and TV said I was in trouble! But the storm quickly came and went. It probably lasted fifteen minutes max although the rain lingered.
I just checked outside and there are no damages I noted in my apartment complex. Aside from having no power for over an hour, my little spot in the world was just fine throughout the craziest storms to hit DFW this year.
Hope everyone else is OK!
EDIT: Here are some pics I took the next day.
Oh snap! goes the branches. My apartment building is not seen here, but very close to the right.

An uprooted tree! AND! My bedroom window a few yards to the right!

Don’t worry, I still have stash in the reserves to pay my bills. I just happened to overlook a bill that wasn’t sent to me. The bill that says “theignition.net” belongs to me and not Go Daddy. So, sorry to those that happened to be confused within the 24 hours that this site redirected you to Go Daddy’s money grubbing ads. Ten bucks says this site is mine! … for another year.
