Perplexed.
Taking a break from the recaps with just one question:
Did anybody find it super odd that Def Leppard would be guest musicians in Dancing with the Stars?
And perhaps a bonus question:
How would you feel if you wrote a song and sang it at least once a week, in front of hundreds of people, for over twenty years?
And a bonus statement:
I rewinded American Idol twice while listening to Paula Abdul’s critique over Jason Castro’s “second song” before realizing she was just confused. Oh, Paula! (I secretly hope her accidental critique was right and that Jason Castro does not make it into the final four. He wasn’t one of my ponies!)

You know, many are saying that American Idol is “fixed” based on Paula’s goof last night– that she just got ahead of herself in what she was supposed to say during the show. I keep telling these people, that that is insufficient evidence for a “fixed” competition. Paula has been known to come to the show high or drunk or otherwise drugged or in an altered state by some other means. Had those comments been made by anyone else, I could see the argument. But from Paula? This is really just par for the course.

Yeah, I read some other blogs and their commenters in a rage about it all. I just want to hold these people and say, “Chillax, friends. It’s only TV!” (Or mockingly say, “If you can’t trust TV, who can you trust?!”)
I’ve read that the judges usually write most of their comments based on the dress rehearsal and she read ahead, and that’s fine with me. Doesn’t mean it’s “fixed.”
Bottom line, Paula is human (maybe a crazier human than most, but most people don’t have Platinum albums!) and American Idol is still entertaining to me, crazy Paula and all.
