Operation: Blubber Blast. Day 1.

By neener | September 1, 2006

I’m a big fan of accountablity. I’m also a big fan of cookouts and pizza. As a post-grad twentysomething, I’ve found it difficult to create your own routine and stick to it. No longer do I have a class schedule, work schedule, and ways to cram social life and exercise and sleep in between. Besides my work schedule, I’m free to do whatever, whenever.

I signed up at LA Fitness in the late spring in attempts to get that “summer bod” and get that healthy, happy feeling. Haha, so I really didn’t want that “summer bod,” but always enjoy how great I feel once I get a workout schedule going.

But it didn’t stick. And neither did my diet of “no junk food and less eating out.” So, inspired my my friend Mandy’s recent post, I, too, will start to publicly keep track of my progress (hopefully it’ll be progress!) which will hopefully spark some accountability between me and her and whoever else reads this thing.

Target weight loss for September: Five lbs. would be great, but realistically, I am already pretty small with plenty of room to build back muscle strength so I would be happy with 3-5 lbs. loss.

Arms/upper body workout: 3 sets of 12 at each ’station,’ alternating between two stations at a time. 15-20 secs in between reps. I’ll list my usual arms/upper body workout when I get around to figuring out what the machines are called.

Cardio: Did not feel up to par at all today. Also, wanted to rush through workout due to plans tonight. Only 15 mins on elliptical at level 5 (one mile). My heart rate always spikes at 178-180 bpm which I don’t think is a great thing at all.

You may be interested in the site http://www.traineo.com

It is a site where you can keep track of your status and you can also add motivators which will receive your updates. Kinda cool.

I think you mean 3 SETS of 12 reps. you should probably rest 45 sec to 1 mn between sets, if not, you doing cardio, nothing wrong with that besides that it’s not what you’re trying to do…
